TomTom have made two permenant docking stations for the GO series. One that fits the GO classic and another for the 300, 500 and 700 series.

The permanent docking stations allows you to connect your TomTom upto the car by use of the ISO loom. From the loom the docking station will take power, instrument illumination (not classic) and provide by use of it's internal power amps a feed to the front speakers of the car.

Pinout 300/500/700 Docking Station

Pin 1 (Far right looking at shoe) - Ground Pin 2 - Docking Sense (This seems to be pulled to ground to symbolise a powered docking shoe.) Pin 3 - Docking Sense (This seems to be pulled to ground to symbolise a permanent docking kit, mute radio etc.) Pin 4 - Microphone Pin 5 - Left Audio Pin 6 - Right Audio Pin 7 - Mute Radio (This gets pulled to ground by the TomTom to mute the radio, surprisingly it seems fine to shove 12v up this pin) Pin 8 - Car Lights Sense (Is pulled to ground to switch modes, unconfirmed! Also appears not to work from v5.? up.)

Pin 15 - +5V

Action

Upon the TomTom pulling mute to ground the PDK (Docking Kit) will: Switch the front speakers to be the output of the onboard amplifier and amplify the output from the TomTom; Switch the back speakers to mute.

The handsfree from the TomTom only appears on the left channel, this I believe is within the TomTom software.
