TTxearth displays an image of the earth, as seen from your favorite vantage point in space (this can be your current position), correctly shaded for the current position of the sun. By default, xearth updates the displayed image every five minutes. The time between updates can be changed using a command-line option. Xearth can also be configured to create and render into GIF files; see the man page for details.

Install

Unpack the binary package (zip file) and move the contents to your tomtom Directory just as they are. Thats it. It is not necessary to rebuild the systems kernel. You do not need opentomlinux! You can use the device with navigation software as before. The icon for xearth should appear in the setting menu.

Important: You should use/have installed TTconsole. Although xearth can run without TTconsole, there is no way to quit the program except for you use the virtual keyboard of TTconsole. Most of the features of xearth can only be accessed via command line arguments. see

 xearth -help

Xearth can create .gif files.
